Royal Asscher is committed to sourcing our materials in an ethical and sustainable manner. The company has a long history of environmentally and socially responsible practices, and we believe that sourcing our precious materials responsibly is of the utmost importance.
Royal Asscher has a zero-tolerance policy towards conflict diamonds. We have taken vigorous steps to assure that conflict diamonds do not enter our inventory. Royal Asscher always buys from countries that are participants in the Kimberley Process.
Our rough diamonds are sourced from companies and nations compliant with the Kimberley Process; a joint global initiative to stop the flow of conflict diamonds.
The Kimberly Process requires participating governments to ensure that each shipment of rough diamonds is transported in a secure container and is provided with a unique number and government valid certificate (stating that the diamonds are conflict free). More than 70 countries participate, representing all nations with significant involvement in the diamond trade. All 70 importing countries agree not to accept rough diamonds without an approved Kimberley Process certificate.
There are numerous issues facing the global diamond industry as it evolves over time. The Asscher family holds positions on professional associations and as a company Royal Asscher has a policy of lobbying for human, social and environmental rights working with forward thinking colleagues in the industry.
Royal Asscher’s co-presidents are a member of the oldest diamond exchange in the world and thus also a member of WFDB - World Federation of Diamond Bourses, founded on September 17, 1890 in Amsterdam. This is the oldest diamond exchange in the world that represents the Dutch diamond trade.
Former president and current honorary chairman Edward Asscher is now the president of the World Diamond Council.
The World Federation of Diamond Bourses and the International Diamond Manufacturers Association passed a resolution at their Antwerp meeting in July 2000, creating the World Diamond Council. The resolution called for the newly formed WDC to include representation from the diamond industry itself and also from among countries where diamonds play a major economic role and from the international banking sector. The ultimate mandate for the World Diamond Council is the development, implementation and oversight of a tracking system for the export and import of rough diamonds to prevent the exploitation of diamonds for illicit purposes such as war and inhumane acts. Human rights activists refer to diamonds exploited in this way as “blood” or “conflict” diamonds.
The diamond industry does not condone the exploitation of diamonds for illicit or immoral purposes. Nor will it acquiesce to outside efforts to disrupt the importance that diamonds are to the established and emerging economies around the world. Rather it is the goal of the diamond industry, working through the World Diamond Council, to work openly and in partnership with the people of the world whenever and wherever such challenges occur.

What shipping options are available on royalasscher.com?
All orders with shipping addresses within the Netherlands and shipping address outside the Netherlands with an order value above EUR 1000 will be sent to you free of charge.
For any orders with a total value less than EUR 1000 we charge the costs of the transport companies. We prefer to work with UPS. You will receive a track & trace code as soon as your order has been shipped. When you are not at home you will receive a notification in the mailbox. In total, the package is offered to you three times.
In your shopping bag you can see exactly what the costs are per address. On average the shipping charges come to:

When the product you ordered is currently in stock in our HQ it will be shipped within 4-5 business days. Items ordered together may not always ship together.
All our shipments are being shipped with UPS.
If for any reason this is not an option for your shipping location we will contact you and find another option to get the product to you safely. You will receive a confirmation by email with your tracking number on the day of the shipment.
We have taken precautions in our headquarters in line with local health authority and government guidelines to protect our customers and employees. As a result, you may experience delays in the processing and shipping of your order. Currently, next day delivery and express shipping are not available. Please note, at this time product availability may be limited.

How do I return an order and how do refunds work?
Royal Asscher processes your order carefully and makes every effort to ensure that you are satisfied with your order.
If the product does not meet your expectations, you have the option to terminate the agreement for a period of 14 days, with the exception of products that are personalized or custom made at your request. The period starts on the day of receipt of the product.

- Reporting of a damaged product must be reported within a maximum of two months after discovery. Royal Asscher will ensure the product will be fix the damage or send you a new product.
If for any reason at a later stage you have a damaged product please contact us and we can send you a quote for fixing the issue and will ensure it gets done perfectly.

How can I best maintain my jewelry?
The brilliance of the diamond depends on the amount of light entering the stone and reflecting it back on the human eye. However, the smallest amount of grease on the surface of a stone can dull the reflection, even by the touch of a finger, leaving natural oil on the diamond.
You can bring your diamond jewelry to our stores to give your jewelry a professional cleaning. We then can also check whether the stones are safe in their settings and we can have any necessary repairs carried out. To keep your diamonds clean between visits, use our Royal Asscher cleaning kit or brush your jewelry in lukewarm soapy water with liquid detergent.
Avoid cleaning your sink when cleaning your jewelry. If you still want to clean your jewelry in the sink, make sure the stopper is on. If you use a brush, be careful; the diamonds may come loose from their settings if you handle the brush too roughly. If using hand lotion, wait at least 10-15 minutes before putting your rings back on.
Finally, store your jewelry well. Because diamonds are very hard, they can scratch other jewels and each other. When traveling, use a travel bag, which will keep individual pieces safe and separate.
Can I also contact Royal Asscher for maintenance and repairs?
At Royal Asscher we try not only to advise and assist you well before purchasing your jewel, but certainly after your purchase. After Sales Service is very important to us. You can contact us with your questions and maintenance of your jewelry. In addition, we give a minimum of 1-year warranty on all maintenance that we perform.
We would like to point out that everything in life needs maintenance, so this also applies to your jewelry. It is therefore advisable to have your jewelry cleaned and checked by your specialist jeweler on average once a year. Of course, we can also make official valuation reports for insurance purposes.
Do I receive warranty on Royal Asscher products?
The legal warranty applies to all items that you purchase from Royal Asscher. A legal guarantee means that a product is or must do what the consumer can reasonably expect from it. This warranty is without prejudice to the statutory rules regarding conformity and warranty. This warranty provision does not limit the legal rules. If you have a problem with a purchased product, you can register it with us at any time and we will advise you on how to solve the problem as quickly as possible or we will solve it for you.
